With more than 40 years invested in choral music, I have recently semi-retired and am devoting my time to carrying on a couple of my real passions.

As a traditional church musician, I continue my worship resources site www.WorshipRx.com ; and because I understand the kinds of things any choral conductor might need for specific groups, I have developed this site.

I've included several things I have developed over the years from arrangements for smaller choirs and slimmer Sundays.

Because I know the great sacred texts are not always acceptable in the public school system, I have provided alternate texts whenever possible.

I am enlisting friends and colleagues to create flexible choral pieces to include on the site -- again with both sacred and non-sacred texts included.

THE FACT IS...

There is very little on this site that you can not do for yourself, but everything on this site takes a lot of time to complete -- and we know you don't have all that much extra time to arrange music, to transpose keys, to mark everyone's scores.

We've done a good bit of the work for you, so for a very reasonable cost, you can download a new anthem for your choir, make copies and hand them out to rehearse TODAY.

We have avoided markings for volume levels, leaving room for your interpretation without someone saying, "Aren't you going to crescendo here like it says?" We all know these are editorial markings added along the way, especially to the classics.

The easiest/most efficient way to use downloaded music is to duplicate the anthems (front and back), 3-hole punch them, and use standard notebooks for rehearsal folders.

We're simply trying to provide you with some outside help, making your job a little easier and helping you manage your ever-decreasing budget more efficiently!

THIS SITE IS FOR YOU IF:

  • You've got a good choir but a small choir? Maybe one that has no real tenors? Or no real basses? But you want to sing some pretty good, standard literature?

  • You need some things to start off the semester with your school choirs? Have some low-attendance Sundays ahead for your church choir?

  • So far as choir-size or innate ability, this is just not the best year you've had?

  • You have a great accompanist, but not a great choir?

  • You're in the market for some fresh texts for some old classics? Especially ones that can be used in a public school setting?

  • Your music budget is tight?

ADVANTAGE TO DOWNLOADING

CHORAL MUSIC

You can save yourself a lot of time and trouble by marking the music before you duplicate it -- indicating the phrasings, the tempo changes, the dynamics, etc. Very few of our publications have any of these marked, leaving it up to you to decide how YOU will interpret the music, even the classics!
